Twenty years ago, when digital media began to rise in importance, Benedetto Marcucci made the first book in oil. Now the artist presents at the MACRO - Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Roma - a project conceived in the nineties but never achieved: the Treccani in oil.

The Treccani Encyclopedia, arguably the most important italian scientific and cultural institute, is living a critical moment in the age of Wikipedia. Even so, according to Marcucci, it must not be forgotten in cellars or shelves, on the contrary it should be preserved.
The artist, Benedetto Marcucci, is 43 and lives in Rome. When he was twenty years old he met Mario Schifano and became his assistant. One of his works is on display at the GNAM - Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna. He has written articles for liberal, Il Foglio, Il Giornale, and Vanity Fair. He is the press officer and spokesman of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
